Process

Sculpted bust out of clay, created detail mold using silicone followed by layering plaster to make a 2-part mold with metal shims, poured plaster into mold for final sculpture.

Lost Wax Method Process

1. Sculpted tile out of clay, created plaster mold, then poured wax to form wax tile.

​2. Formed a cup and sprues out of wax, attached to wax tile to create a gating system for metal to flow into mold.

3. Wax assembly was dipped into a ceramic slurry, layered with fine and course sand.

4. Hardened mold was placed into kiln, melting out the wax and leaving a hollow mold for the metal. (Pictured to Left)

5. Finally, molten silver metal was poured into mold to create the final metal tile.

Rectilinear Structure
Plaster
Rectangle forms made out of clay and sculpted into rectilinear structure, then replicated in plaster.
